Program Manager WEAPONS

 

Hands-on Program manager to oversees multiple related projects to achieve strategic organizational goals, providing leadership, coordination, and alignment across teams and stakeholders.

 

He will focus on the execution of all single projects and will oversee the portfolio of all small-arms and Systems-Integrator Strategic Initiative related projects, ensuring they collectively achieve strategic objectives. He will handle day-to-day project execution and provide high-level oversight, coordination, and alignment.

 

Key Responsibilities

Program managers are responsible for planning, executing, and monitoring programs that consist of multiple interrelated projects.

Their duties include:

 

  • Strategic Planning: Define program objectives, scope, and deliverables in alignment with organizational goals, and prioritize projects based on strategic importance and resource availability.
  • Project Coordination: Oversee project managers and cross-functional teams, ensuring projects are executed efficiently and meet deadlines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Resource Management: Allocate personnel, budget, and equipment to support program activities, optimizing resource utilization across projects.
  • Risk and Issue Management: Identify potential risks and interdependencies, develop mitigation strategies, and take corrective actions as needed.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track program metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs), analyze data, and report progress to senior management or stakeholders .
  • Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, providing updates, facilitating collaboration, and ensuring alignment with program objectives.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive program documentation, including project plans, budgets, and performance reports.

 

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Leadership and Team Management: Ability to guide, motivate, and coordinate multiple teams toward achieving program goals
  • Strategic Thinking and Problem-Solving: Capacity to anticipate challenges, make decisions, and implement solutions across complex programs
  • Project Management Expertise: Knowledge of project lifecycles, methodologies, and tools such as Gantt charts, Dash boards, and portfolio management software
  • Financial Management: Experience developing budgets, controlling costs, and ensuring programs deliver value
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication to liaise effectively with stakeholders, teams, and executives.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to organize daily activities based on the goals of the Program and to manage multiple projects, schedules, and resources simultaneously.
  • Risk and Change Management: Competence in evaluating and assessing the programs’ strengths and weaknesses and in identifying risks, implementing contingency plans, and managing program changes.
  • Conflict resolution and Problem-solving skills

 

 

Educational requirements

 

  • University degree in business, management, or a related field, though equivalent experience may be considered. A Master in Engineering will represent an asset

 

  • 5-10 years experience in multiple project management in an R&D-Industry environment
